Lilian Barreto graduated from the Beit-Zvi School of the Performing Arts in 1990 and was a Meskin Prize winner for her leading role as Marianne in the Habima Theater's production of Scenes from a Marriage. She also won the Israeli Theater Prize for her role as Tziona in the Han Theater's production of Homefront War.
Regular arrangements have taken her to the Habima Theater in Tel Aviv, the Beersheba Theater, Beit Lessin Theater and The Camri Theater Barreto’s stage roles include: Stevie in The Goat, or, Who Is Sylvia?, Marianne in Scenes from a Marriage, Emma in Betrayal, Barbara in August: Osage County, Maureen in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Lysistrata in Lysistrata among many others.

Lilian Barreto initiated, edited and directed a number of independent productions such as Oh, Elias, Elias - Sketches by Hanoch Levin and Everything is Political with poems by Maria Wisława Szymborska and more. Barreto is the founder, producer and owner of the Be My Guest culture Program for Stage. She is currently performing her autobiographical solo program unbelievably rude!, written by Or Israeli.In January 2022 she will appear as a guest in Burns at the Schauspiel Stuttgart.
In April 2022 she will appear at Habima theater in Tel Aviv in the play The Doctor by Robert Icke starring as Ruth. Lilian Barreto is also the artistic director and chief executive of The Hanoch Levin Estate.
