Rebecca Frecknall was born in 1986. She works as a director, most often in Great Britain. Frecknall is Associate Director at the Almeida Theatre in London, where her productions include Cordelia Lynn’s adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s play Three Sisters and The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster. She was nominated for the 2019 Olivier Award for Best Director for her production of Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke. Mary Stuart will be Frecknall’s first production in a German-speaking country.
