Ursina Lardi*

Ursina Lardi was born in Graubünden, Switzerland. She studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. During her first engagement at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, she played the title role in Oscar Wilde’s Salome under the direction of Einar Schleef (invited to the Theatertreffen 1998). After engagements at several renowned theatres in Germany, Ursina Lardi has been a member of the ensemble at Schaubühne Berlin since 2012.
As a guest, she performed and sang the role of Elsa in Salvatore Sciarrino’s Lohengrin at Staatsoper Berlin (directed by Ingo Kerkhof, 2014). Outside the Schaubühne, she has long collaborated with Thorsten Lensing, most recently in Unendlicher Spaß (Theatertreffen 2019) and Verrückt nach Trost (Salzburg Festival 2022).

In addition to her theatre work, Ursina Lardi appears in numerous film and television productions, including The White Ribbon by Michael Haneke (Palme d’Or in Cannes and Oscar nomination), Lore by Cate Shortland (German Film Award 2013), Sag mir nichts by Andreas Kleinert, and Der namenlose Tag by Volker Schlöndorff. In 2022, she premiered La dérive des continents (au sud) by Lionel Baier in Cannes and appeared in Axel Ranisch’s opera film Orphea in Love and Sabine Boss’s comedy Die Nachbarn von oben.

In 2024, the film Veni Vidi Vici by Daniel Hoesl premiered in the international competition at the Sundance Film Festival, featuring her in a leading role. Ursina Lardi won the Swiss Film Award for Best Actress in 2014 for her role in Petra Volpe’s Traumland. In 2017, she received the Grand Prix Theatre and the Hans Reinhart Ring, Switzerland’s highest theatre award. In June 2025, she was also honored with the Silver Lion at the Venice Theatre Biennale.
