Thorsten Lensing

Director Thorsten Lensing has been creating independent productions since the mid-1990s, consistently working with a core ensemble of outstanding actors. His productions are usually developed in co-production with theatres and festivals such as Schauspielhaus Zürich, Sophiensæle, Kampnagel, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Theater im Pumpenhaus, Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Münchner Kammerspiele, and deSingel. Following stage adaptations of The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky and Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace (invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2019), Verrückt nach Trost – premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 2022 – was followed by Dancing Idiots, based on texts by Denis Johnson.
