Nicolas Heußner

Nicolas Heußner first studied secondary-school teaching in biology and English at the University of Würzburg before studying theatre directing at the ADK Bayern from 2019 to 2023 under the programme direction of Nurkan Erpulat. During his directing studies, he assisted on numerous theatre productions and festivals, including at the Maxim Gorki Theater and the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.
From 2023 to 2025, Nicolas Heußner was permanently engaged at Theater Regensburg as assistant director, stage manager, and performance manager in the Young Theatre division. There, he gained experience in interdisciplinary projects and assisted directors including Oda Zuschneid, Fanny Brunner, and Philipp Westerbarkei. During this time, he also led a community theatre group.
Since the beginning of the 2025/26 season, he has been permanently engaged as assistant director at Schauspiel Stuttgart, where he has worked with directors including Lucia Bihler, Tina Lanik, Martin Kušej, and Alexander Eisenach.
He develops his own stage works as part of the Krawall & Katharsis format, including Working Title: Feierabend and Karfreitag.
