Gábor Biedermann

Gábor Biedermann was born in Clermont-Ferrand and grew up in Wiesbaden and Porto. Following his first theatre experiences with Henrik Kemény, a puppeteer from Budapest, he began to study puppetry, attending the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. He went on to join the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin from 2005 to 2009. Following this, Biedermann worked at the Salzburger Festspiele, the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Theatre Basel, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, and the Vienna Festival. From 2015 to 2019, he was an ensemble member of the Volkstheater in Vienna, where he was nominated for the Nestroy Prize category Best Supporting Actor for his performance of Jewgenji Konstantinowitsch Lwow in Ivanov. In 2018/19, he was awarded the Dorothea Neff Award for Best Male Actor at the Vienna Volkstheater. Biedermann has worked with directors such as Viktor Bodó, Robert Schuster, Dušan David Pařízek, Karin Henkel, Barbara Frey, Christian Stückl, Volker Lösch and Stephan Kimmig. He also appears regularly in film and television productions. Biedermann became a permanent ensemble member at the Schauspiel Stuttgart in the 2019/20 season.
