Oliver Rossol
Oliver Rossol, born in Nuremberg in 1987, works as an auteur filmmaker, cinematographer, and video artist. He studied art at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main under Rotraut Pape. At Schauspiel Frankfurt he created video work for productions directed by Ersan Mondtag, Mizgin Bilmen, Bernadette Sonnenbichler, Roger Vontobel, and Angel Krastev. He has an ongoing collaboration with director Alexander Eisenach, through which works including Fauser, mon Amour, Das kalte Hauch des Geldes, Anthropos, Tyrann (Oedipus), and Der große Kunstraub were created at Schauspiel Frankfurt, Volksbühne Berlin, and Residenztheater München.
For the live video in Das kalte Hauch des Geldes, Rossol received the Hessian Theatre Prize in the category "Sehen" (Seeing) in 2017. Further film work includes the short film Der reflektierende Käfer (with Viktor Tremmel), which was awarded the distinction "particularly valuable," as well as work as director of photography on the Lithuanian film adaptation of Franz Kafka's The Castle, directed by Nikolas Darnstädt. At Schauspiel Frankfurt he also directed and shot the film adaptation of Eisenach's Eternal Peace. His feature film debut Grün ist eine unmenschliche Farbe was released in 2022.
In the 2021/22 season, Oliver Rossol also participated as video artist in the world premiere of Der Schiffbruch der Fregatte Medusa at the Marstall.
