Nina Peller
Nina Peller studied stage and costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and graduated with the Academy Association Award. She then worked as an assistant at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin under the direction of Bert Neumann. During this time, she was already carrying out her own projects for the Volksbühne Berlin and its venues.
She has worked closely with directors Stefan Pucher, Ersan Mondtag, Wilke Weermann, and Christian Weise. Her work has been presented at venues including the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Vienna Festival, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Münchner Kammerspiele, Theater Basel, the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, HAU Berlin, the Staatstheater Kassel, the German National Theater Weimar, the Stadsteater Malmö, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
In 2024, Peller made her film debut as production designer on the film adaptation of Peter Weiss’s play Die Ermittlung, directed by RP Kahl. The international premiere took place in 2025 at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. In 2023, she was nominated for “Set Designer of the Year” by the trade journal Die Deutsche Bühne. In the 2024 season review, she was once again named one of the year’s most outstanding set designers.
During the 2026–27 winter semester, she will be a lecturer in stage and costume design at the Berlin Weißensee Academy of Art.
