Ihor Bilyz

Bilyts Ihor was born in 1986, he studied at the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and Television Karpenko-Karogo and worked as an actor in the Kyiv Theatre-Studio “Dyvniy Zamok” (Director A.I.Ivanchenko). He is a current director at the Maria Zankovetska National Theater in Lviv. Bilyts Ihor made his debut as a playwright in 2017 with his work Gay Paradе at the Drama Festival Ukrainian Play Week. In 2018 the piece premiered at the Wild Theater in Kyiv (directed by O. Dorychevsky), which was followed by the premiere of his play How to Steal a Horse (project manager P. Rusanenko), with the support of the Renaissance Foundation, Kyiv in 2018. Within the same year his work Prostitute was shortlisted for the DramaUA Drama Competition, Lviv and staged at the Theater Neft, Kharkiv in 2019. In 2021 his work Captive was shortlisted for the DramaUA Drama Competition in Lviv.
