Zal'ot - (from the Ukrainian word "litaty" - to fly) - a colloquial word which means to get into an unpleasant situation due to one's own negligence.
High-school graduate Lida‘s dream is to fly – just like her uncle, an international pilot. In order to escape her tiny apartment in her provincial hometown and her monotonous life, she strives to train as a flight attendant.
Suddenly, her beloved uncle dies during his holidays. Fortunately, she still has friends who will help Lida realise her dream. But what price will she have to pay?
This is a story about growing up within the boundaries of 1990s post-Soviet Ukraine. A story about difficult decisions that shape one’s personality.
The Malyi Teatr was founded in April 1989 by the actress, theatre critic and "People's Artist of Ukraine" Valentina Kimberska at the request of the Union of Ukrainian Theatre Actors. Under the current artistic director Dmytro Veselsky (since 2017), it sees itself as a place of reflection and direct dialogue between actors and audiences, as a place for experimenting with different forms and aesthetics, as an open space for shared values. The Malyi Teatr is a Ukrainian theatre that deals decisively with Ukrainian culture and at the same time locates itself in the context of contemporary European art.

Випускниця Ліда мріє літати. Як її дядько, пілот міжнародних рейсів. Після закінчення школи дівчина хоче вивчитися на стюардесу та полетіти з цієї тісної квартири, з цього провінційного міста, з цього прісного життя.
Але… Несподіване піке! Дядя абсурдно гине під час відпустки.
Добре, що у нього лишилися вірні друзі, які обовязково допоможуть Лідиному задуму реалізуватися. Однак скільки це буде коштувати і якою валютою платять за мрію?
Це історія про дорослішання та гартування характеру, історія про важкі рішення, які формують особистість. Події розгортаються в 90-х роках, коли разом із персонажами під музику із «касєтніка» вчиться та дорослішає уся країна.
