Klaus Rodewald grew up in Berlin and studied drama at the Bern Conservatory for Music and Theatre. He was engaged at the Thalia Theatre Hamburg from 1989 to 1995, where he worked with Jürgen Flimm, Katharina Thalbach, Ruth Berghaus, Nikolai Sykosch and Jérôme Savary, among other directors. In 2000, following a stint as a freelance actor, Rodewalk became a member of the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus ensemble until 2005. Following this, he joined the Mannheim National Theatre ensemble. He joined the Schauspiel Stuttgart ensemble at the beginning of Burkhard C. Kosminski's artistic directorship in 2018/19. Here, he has worked with directors such as Calixto Bieito, Achim Freyer, Oliver Frljić and Robert Icke.
